Events and Special Exhibits
The Zeeland Historical Society is proud to offer a variety of events to engage all ages!
Join us for one of our regularly occurring events for all ages! Our full event list is coming soon.
In addition to our permanent exhibits at the Dekker Huis Museum, we offer Special Exhibits that change on a regular basis.
Agriculture plays a significant role in our lives; from the food we eat and the clothes we wear to the surrounding landscape and the community in which we live.
Agriculture is especially important to West Michigan’s past, present, and future.
The Zeeland Historical Society invites you to celebrate the history of agriculture in West Michigan by visiting the Cultivating West Michigan exhibit! This exhibit examines the history of agriculture in Zeeland and the surrounding communities, explores fascinating developments in farming, and shares challenges and opportunities for the future.
The built environment surrounds us, shaping our daily lives. From homes and roads to factories and public spaces, these structures reflect the values and aspirations of the people who created them. The Foundations Exhibit explores Zeeland’s architectural and infrastructural evolution — from the first log cabins of Dutch settlers to the modern developments that define our city today. Step inside and journey through Zeeland’s past, present, and future as we celebrate the people and places that have built our community.
