Our collection is made up of items donated by the community The Zeeland Historical Society collects artifacts and archival materials that will help us understand and tell the story of Zeeland and its neighboring communities. All donated items are reviewed by the Collections Committee before being accepted into the collection.
Our Collections Statement
The Zeeland Historical Society will collect only those items that were made or used in the City of Zeeland or its neighboring communities (New Groningen, Borculo, Overisel, Beaverdam, Drenthe, Vriesland, and Noordeloos); or were associated with a person, place, or event in Zeeland or the surrounding area; or, to a limited extent, are typical or representative of objects made or used in Zeeland or the surrounding area; and which are of a historical, cultural, economic, or aesthetic nature, for which the museum can properly care for.
