Women of distinction - March 12, 1981

In 1981: Women of distinction will be featured in the first show of the 1981 season at Dekker Huis and Zeeland Historical Museum, opened March 5 and will continue through April 25. The show, entitled “Remember the Ladies,” is a comprehensive display of local women who were outstanding in their fields and displayed strength, courage and ability. Those featured including Mrs. John (Emma De Witt) Hendricks, Johanna Veenstra, Tena Holkeboer, Miss Martha Karsten, Mrs. Fox’s hat shop, and others. The schoolroom features Anna Huizenga, a Zeeland teacher for 42 years who taught three generations.
