On Friday, September 13, the Zeeland Historical Society hosted the monthly School Bell Series at the 1881 New Groningen Schoolhouse on Paw Paw Drive in Zeeland.
Linda Kolk presented a program exploring the life and thought of Paul de Kruif, a Zeeland native and the first to write about health and medicine for the general public.
Check out his book, A Man Against Insanity (1957), to learn how one doctor at the Traverse City State Hospital changed the way people with mental illness are treated here and abroad.
