Sinterklaas Visits the Museum - December 1, 2018

There were about 45 children who brought 80 of their parents, grandparents, aunts and uncles to the Dekker Huis / Zeeland Museum on Saturday, the first of December. They visited with Sinterklaas from 10:00 am to noon and heard the story about how Dutch children celebrate Christmas in the Netherlands.

Each child also had the opportunity to:

  • FIND GOLD COINS throughout the museum and get a sticker
  • Make a marshmallow stirrer for cocoa -- Dekker-Huis Kitchen
  • Make a wooden shoe ornament -- Research Room
  • Build a log cabin -- Pioneer Room
  • Try on hats and wooden shoes -- Log Cabin
  • Plant a bean seed -- Veterans Memorial Room
  • Play with some old fashioned toys -- Toy Room

Thank you to all volunteers who helped !
