On Thursday, July 18, sisters Lynette Doele and Dr. Deb Havens, presented a documentary based on a WWI family mystery about a beloved grandfather and the mysterious box he left behind in his attic.
The event was hosted by Genealogy Study Group (with Megan Heyl), Howard Miller Public Library (with Heather Wood-Gramza, Director) and the Zeeland Historical Society (with Debbie Albert, Audrey Rojo and Wendy Combs).
Ninety-five (95) people attended this very informative documentary, which was dedicated to the sisters' mother, Roselle Havens, the family genealogist. In 2018 The Roselle Havens Collection: Delbert Havens, Post WWI Occupations Forces, Europe was donated to Western Michigan University's World War I collection, which is housed in the Zhang Legacy Collections Center.
