The Zeeland Historical Society actively collects items made or used in Zeeland and its neighboring communities (New Groningen, Borculo, Overisel, Beaverdam, Drenthe, Vriesland, and Noordeloos); items associated with a person, place, or event in Zeeland or the surrounding area; or, to a limited extent, items typical or representative of objects made or used in Zeeland or the surrounding area. As a steward of these items, the Zeeland Historical Society uses our collections and archives to promote, interpret, research, and preserve our local history.
The Zeeland Historical Society is home to over 20,000 objects and archival records. You can access our digitized collections from anywhere in our Online Catalog. Over 8,000 items have recently been added to our online catalog as a tool for researchers and curious minds alike. You can browse by Keyword, Archives, Objects, and Photos. You can even look at a random entry to browse the collection! Visit the Exhibits tab to see what online and temporary exhibits are being offered. Please take some time to check out this amazing resource.
