FAQs
Is the Dekker Huis Museum accessible for people with mobility impairments?
Unfortunately, we are not yet fully accessible. The first floor does have a stairless entry in the back. If you park in the access driveway to the east of the building, there is a paved path that leads you to the back door. It may be helpful for you to call ahead as this door leads to staff offices. You will be able to access the first floor from this door. The second floor is currently only accessible by staircases.
How much time will it take me to tour the museum?
We typically recommend visitors reserve about an hour to tour. It may take you more time if you read all the interpretive signs, or less if you have more of an overview.
Can I take children to the museum?
We love children visitors! There are several hands on activities specifically for children including Lincoln Logs, scavenger hunts, and themed crafts around our special exhibits.
