2022 is the 175th anniversary of the founding of the village of Zeeland. To celebrate this anniversary and our community’s Dutch heritage, the Dekker Huis Museum in collaboration with deVries Photography is mounting an exhibit featuring photographs of descendants of the Dutch immigrants that came to this area in the first five years of the establishment of the “Kolonie” (1847-1851). The exhibit is expected to go up in May and stay up through early fall. If you can trace your genealogy to an early settler, we would love to hear from you and take your photograph. deVries Photography has been a staple in the Zeeland community for over 140 years and is excited to partner with the museum to support history in action.
